"A long time ago, when I was a young dancer in New York City, I fell in love with Jimmy Dean and he fell in love with me."

I've spent so many years reading other books written about James Dean and my name not mentioned in most, that I'd finally had my fill. I wanted to speak out. To tell the truth that I know to be fact, because I was there.

Recently, on TNT, James Franco played Jimmy in a movie written by Israel Horowitz. I could only watch the first fifteen minutes. Not because it was terrible. It wasn't. In fact, James Franco was extremely good - which is the reason I wanted to see it. He had called me a year ago and asked to talk to me. My husband and I sat in the living room of our home in awe of this boy who had transformed himself into Jimmy. He had done his homework and he seemed sincere and dedicated. So I was interested to see his performance - and I was not disappointed.

However, so much of the teleplay was not truthful. There was no reason it had to be. It was fiction. But I was there. I was a major force in most of the action that took place during the New York sequences. At the start of the film and my name was never mentioned. I had a deep and loving relationship with James Dean. The frustration that I felt watching the television, was the same frustration I've felt for the last almost half century. I thought it was about time that I tell the truth.

The name of my book is "Dizzy and Jimmy." It is about our love affair in New York in the early fifties. My friends who were there and are still alive helped me to remember. It was definitely a labor of love.

You may purchase a copy of the book here, and if you wish, I will write you a personal message and sign it. Our love story was sweet and funny. I have talked with more than a few interested writers over the years, but I have never divulged to anyone the full story of our love. I think you'll enjoy reading about our time together.
