~ Introduction ~

I started this web site for many reasons, mainly the realization that some of you out there are really interested in who I am.
Have you nothing better to do? ;-)

Well. This is me....sort of. I am a third generation New Yorker. One of my ancestors on my father's side, helped build Grand Central Station.

Another relative, great-aunt Sally, made hats for Lillian Russell and the ladies in her shows.

I grew up on the upper East side of Manhattan, and played in Central Park, without incident. I went to school all around the New York area - places like: Riverdale, Larchmont, (a famous spot because Joan Rivers is from there) Stamford, Conn. and I graduated from Mamaroneck High,
in Westchester County, N.Y.

"Dizzy and Jimmy" (the book I just wrote) covers my years performing in New York from 1950 until around 1953, and my time with James Dean. I went to the Virgin Islands to live in '53 and was there when Jimmy died. After a few trips home to see my Mom, I spent the next 13 or so years in the Caribbean, mostly in San Juan, Puerto Rico, dancing, playing piano and singing in clubs and hotels. I'm working on a new book about these experiences - my years in the islands, then back to New York and finally on to Hollywood in 1980.

I felt it was important for this website to be as real and original as I could possibly make it. I want you to know what I've been up to and what's coming next. You can read the exciting reviews for "Dizzy and Jimmy" and purchase a personalized copy if you wish. Maybe I'll even let you in on and excerpt or two from the new book I'm writing. I'll share some pictures and maybe even a song or two - you just never know.

Anyway, thanks for stopping by and I do hope you enjoy my site.

Warmest regards,
Liz
